The Savannah Music Festival (SMF) is Georgia's largest musical arts festival. The festival is a cross-genre event
that celebrates both the musical heritage of the South and International musicians. The festival is held annually over
eighteen consecutive days in spring in Savannah, Georgia. The event showcases the intimate venues of historical
downtown Savannah, and also commissions new musical works specifically performed for the festival. Check the

The Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston SC, May 22 to June 7, 2015
Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, is one of the world's major performing arts festivals. It was
founded in 1977 by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Gian Carlo Menotti , Christopher Keene and others who sought
to establish a counterpart to the Festival Dei Due Mondi (the Festival of Two Worlds) in Spoleto, Italy. The annual 17-
day event showcases both established and emerging artists in more than 120 performances of opera, dance,
theater, classical music, and jazz. World-renowned artists who performed early in their careers at Spoleto Festival
USA include Renee Fleming, Joshua Bell, Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, the Emerson String Quartet and Jean-Yves

acres including the Steiren Orchestra Hall, a rehearsal space for the Opera Orchestra and where you can attend the
informative Prelude Talks about the evening's performance. Included in the tour is a behind- the- scene backstage
visit to learn about the colorful world of opera production.
