Dublin's Great Links and Gaelic Nightlife: Ireland
July 8 to 14, 2012

Sun. July 8: Depart New York or other ports for Dublin, Ireland (overnight flight).

Mon. July 9: Arrive Dublin. Transfer by coach to the famed Shelbourne Hotel on St. Stephens Green. Rest up for a while to prepare for afternoon Golf at the Island Golf Club. A late supper at the hotel and off to bed or music at a local pub.

Tues. July 10: A leisurely breakfast and off to play at Dollymount, The Royal Dublin Golf Club. Perhaps ‘catch’ an early Irish seafood dinner at the nearby King Sitric Restaurant in Malahide. After dinner Irish music is just along the road if you want to hear genuine, ancient Gaelic tunes.

Wed. July 11: An early drive down the coast for a round at the well-bunkered European Club. An evening at the Gaiety Theatre, Ireland’s oldest playhouse” Pop in for a nightcap at the ‘Templar Bar’.

Thus. July 12: An early start north to Baltray for golf at County Louth. A late afternoon BBQ at the famed Fairyhouse Racetrack Have a flutter on a nag during the evening meet that includes Irish musical entertainment and an Irish BBQ.

Fri. July 13: A morning Round at Portmarnock Golf Club. Time remains for a shopping spree at the nearby Grafton and O’Connell Streets. Farewell to Dublin dinner get-together at a local pub.

Sat. July 14: After breakfast check-out and off to Dublin International Airport for a flight home to the USA, or add an extra day to finish off the weekend.

Accomodations

The world famous Renaissance Shelbourne Hotel on St. Stephen’s Green is home for the duration of the tour. Recently renovated, the five-star Shelbourne provides the utmost comfort and top-drawer hospitality. The Shselbourne once the destination of princes and lords and Ireland’s eminent poets and playwrights still offers a regal and unique experience. Joyce, Yeats, Synge and O’Casey among others frequently gathered in the Shelbourne Pub.

Dublin’s finest theatres, restaurants and pubs are all nearby. Trinity College with the “Book of Kells” is just around the corner and right next door is Grafton Street, a shopper’s paradise where you can enjoy Irish street entertainment as you shop.

The cost per person is $3795 and includes: ( Add $1229 for single occupancy)

  • Five nights at the five-star Shelbourne Hotel, standard room, double occupancy.
  • Golf green fees at five scheduled courses.
  • Transfer by coach to and from Dublin International Airport and at scheduled golf courses.
  • Additional nights can be added at the Shelbourne Hotel.

The tour is escorted by David Paterson, Yale University Men's Golf Coach, Tour is limited to twelve participants.

A deposit of $750 per person is required to enroll. The full amount is due sixty days before departure. Cancellation within thirty days will be subject to a penalty  equal to the deposit, unless the tour vacancy is filled.
